DSJ Global, a leading end-to-end-supply chain and manufacturing recruitment firm is currently partnered with a leading Chemical Manufacturing group who is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join its team in Louisville, KY. This role offers the opportunity to lead strategic engineering initiatives within a complex manufacturing environment, focusing on process optimization, capital project execution, and safety enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead long-term improvement initiatives targeting recurring process challenges.
- Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects, including concept development, engineering, and construction oversight.
- Design and implement operational plans, including project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Develop RFP packages and oversee vendor selection using defined metrics.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of control systems (DCS/PLC).
- Collaborate across departments to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Assist in developing and modifying procedures and training operators on new processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing setting.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
Work Environment
This position is based in a chemical manufacturing facility and requires regular time spent in the plant environment. Candidates should be comfortable working in areas with high noise levels, exposure to fumes and dust, and navigating stairs and ladders.
