Senior Utilities Engineer
Job Summary:
The Senior Production Utilities Engineer is responsible for the design, operation, and optimization of utility systems that support specialty chemical manufacturing processes. The role ensures reliable, efficient, and compliant utility performance while driving continuous improvement and supporting capital projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of utility systems to ensure consistent support for production activities.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for utility-related issues impacting production.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of utility systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new installations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to utility operations.
- Support capital projects, including utility system design, specification, and commissioning.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the utilities team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in utilities engineering within chemical or process manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of utility systems (e.g., boilers, chillers, air compressors, water treatment).
- Familiarity with P&IDs, process control systems, and regulatory compliance (e.g., EPA, OSHA).
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives is a plus.
