About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established, family-owned manufacturing company with more than 200 employees and a long-standing reputation for quality, customer service, and operational excellence. Operating from a single flagship U.S. manufacturing facility, they serve demanding customers across industrial and defense-related markets and are seeking an experienced Site Quality Manager to lead all quality initiatives at the site.

Position Summary

The Site Quality Manager will be responsible for leading the facility's quality management systems, customer quality requirements, compliance efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will serve as the site's primary quality leader, partnering closely with operations, engineering, and customer teams to ensure products consistently meet customer specifications and contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting military and defense customers, working within a job shop or build-to-print manufacturing environment, and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all site quality functions, including quality assurance, quality control, customer quality, and supplier quality activities.
  • Maintain and improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, military standards, and contractual quality requirements.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and build-to-print documentation.
  • Lead customer, regulatory, and internal quality audits.
  • Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive action initiatives.
  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to improve quality performance and reduce defects.
  • Develop and track site quality metrics, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, including military and defense-related accounts.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop quality personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting military, defense, or government contracts and customers.
  • Experience in a job shop, build-to-print, make-to-order, or engineered-to-specification manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, inspections, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the textiles, industrial fabrics, or technical materials manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field (preferred, not required).
  • ASQ certifications such as CQE or CQM/OE.
  • Experience working within ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
