Job Overview:

As a Sourcing Engineer at a leading healthcare organization, you will leverage your mechanical engineering expertise to source and procure high-quality biomedical products and equipment. Your role will involve collaborating with suppliers, evaluating product specifications, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies to meet the needs of our healthcare partners. You will play a critical role in enhancing the supply chain efficiency and ensuring the procurement of cutting-edge biomedical technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Procurement:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for biomedical equipment and products.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Product Evaluation:

  • Analyze technical specifications and performance data of biomedical products.
  • Conduct product trials and evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess product performance and suitability.

Cost Management:

  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement processes.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies to capitalize on cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for biomedical equipment procurement.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all procured biomedical products meet the required quality and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any product quality issues or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of product specifications, certifications, and compliance documentation.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, clinical, and operations, to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams on product-related inquiries and issues.
  • Prepare and present reports on sourcing activities, market trends, and procurement performance.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Participate in audits and reviews related to sourcing and procurement processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications in Biomedical Engineering or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably within the biomedical or medical device industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of biomedical technologies, mechanical systems, and product specifications.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis, cost analysis, and market research.
  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
