Our client, a global leader in advanced materials, is seeking a Lead Buyer to manage procurement for technical goods, services, and capital expenditure (CAPEX). This strategic role is critical to ensuring efficient sourcing and supplier management for high-performance operations.
Role Overview
As Lead Buyer, you will develop and execute purchasing strategies for technical categories and CAPEX projects. You'll oversee supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance while driving cost optimization and sustainability. The position involves collaboration with internal stakeholders (Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Site Leadership) and global teams, as well as managing external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement procurement strategies for technical goods, services, and CAPEX
- Lead supplier negotiations and manage performance
- Support local execution of global strategies
- Drive continuous improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives
Requirements
- Master's degree in Procurement or related technical field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in indirect procurement, ideally with technical goods/services and CAPEX
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Analytical, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic environment
Location
Based in Essen, Netherlands on a hybrid basis.
