Senior Product Engineer
DSJ Global is proud to partner with a top manufacturer that is seeking a talented Electrical/Electronics Engineer with a strong background in electronic controls and their application in electric power systems. This role focuses on supporting the development, enhancement, and certification of grid products. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, field service, and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on engineering role that combines technical design, compliance, and customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of control systems and electronic components for grid products
- Select and validate control hardware, develop circuit designs, and create supporting documentation including BOMs and connection diagrams
- Design and implement system interfaces such as SCADA, HMI, and local control stations to meet project and customer requirements
- Lead and support product certification efforts (UL, CSA, CE) and ensure compliance with international standards (UL 1741, IEC 61727, IEC 62109, etc.)
- Provide technical support to field service teams, including troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective action recommendations
- Collaborate with applications engineers and project managers to support project design and implementation
- Continuously improve product documentation, configurations, and support materials to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction
- Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to support projects and customer needs
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
- 5-7 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably with distributed energy resources (DERs) such as wind and solar
- Proven experience in product certification, standards compliance, and structured technical design processes
- Strong understanding of power systems, control systems, and interface technologies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with power quality products in utility, industrial, or renewable energy sectors
- Familiarity with electric utility operations and interpreting electrical schematics
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
