Capital Sourcing Manager
Our client is seeking a Capital Sourcing Manager to lead capital equipment and MRO sourcing for its North American manufacturing operations. This is a strategic, individual contributor role - you'll be assigned specific plants to support and will own the sourcing strategy for those sites rather than executing transactional purchasing.
You'll partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and plant leadership to deliver cost-effective, high-quality capital and MRO solutions while managing risk, supplier performance, and total cost of ownership.
What You'll Do
Capital Equipment & MRO Sourcing
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital equipment (manufacturing lines, automation systems, converting and packaging equipment, facilities infrastructure) and MRO categories
- Drive total cost of ownership optimization across acquisition, installation, maintenance, spare parts, and lifecycle costs
- Transition capital and MRO sourcing from tactical purchasing to a strategic sourcing discipline, embedding best practices and repeatable processes
- Support long-range capital planning through market intelligence and cost benchmarking
Plant Partnership & Strategic Support
- Serve as the sourcing partner for an assigned group of manufacturing plants, understanding their equipment roadmaps, maintenance needs, and capital project pipeline
- Own cost savings targets and annual spend for your assigned categories and sites
- Guide stakeholders through supplier evaluation, pricing analysis, and decision-making
Supplier Selection & Performance
- Identify and qualify global strategic and non-strategic suppliers who deliver best net value, innovation, and competitiveness
- Manage supplier analysis, qualification, and performance improvement initiatives
- Lead supplier discussions focused on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and value enhancement
Negotiation & Commercial Management
- Negotiate terms and conditions, performance specifications, acceptance criteria, liquidated damages, and payment terms; implement appropriate contracts and PO terms of sale
- Prepare and analyze RFQs/RFPs, cost models, and pricing assessments
- Collaborate with internal teams on contract development, pricing structures, and issue resolution
Innovation & Market Intelligence
- Stay ahead of global market shifts, cost drivers, and industry trends
- Identify innovation opportunities and share insights with key stakeholders
- Support sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives
What You Bring
- 6+ years of strategic sourcing or related experience
- Direct capital equipment sourcing experience is strongly preferred

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or CPSM, CPIM, or C.P.M. certification preferred
- Proven experience supporting manufacturing operations
- Strong negotiation, cost modeling, and market analysis skills
