About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Inspector to join a leading aerospace organization in the Miami area. This individual will oversee inspection operations, provide direct leadership to inspection personnel, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and aerospace quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on quality leader with extensive aerospace inspection experience, strong communication skills, and a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily quality inspection activities within the facility.
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and mentorship to quality inspectors and technicians.
- Conduct and oversee receiving, in-process, final, and return-to-service inspections.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, AS9100 quality standards, and customer specifications.
- Review inspection documentation and quality records for accuracy and completeness.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams to resolve quality issues.
- Drive corrective actions, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License issued under 14 CFR Part 65 REQUIRED.
- 8+ years of aerospace quality inspection, maintenance inspection, or quality assurance experience.
- Previous experience in a Lead, Supervisor, Chief Inspector, or other direct people management role.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, aerospace quality systems, and inspection methodologies.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station.
- AS9100 and/or AS9110 experience.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 experience.
