Position Summary
Our Client, a leading food manufacturing organization, is seeking a Maintenance Parts Clerk to support the Maintenance and Engineering departments through inventory management, purchasing coordination, receiving activities, and administrative support. This role is responsible for ensuring maintenance personnel have timely access to the parts, materials, tools, and equipment needed to maximize equipment uptime and plant efficiency. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and verify incoming maintenance-related shipments, ensuring accuracy against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
- Maintain organized storeroom and inventory areas, ensuring inventory records are accurate and current.
- Utilize computerized maintenance and inventory management systems to track parts, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Process purchase requisitions and coordinate the procurement of maintenance-related parts, supplies, and services.
- Obtain pricing, availability, and lead-time information from vendors and suppliers.
- Communicate inventory levels, material availability, and purchasing updates to maintenance and plant leadership.
- Stage, label, and organize parts and materials for preventive maintenance activities, repairs, and projects.
- Complete required reports, inventory transactions, and administrative documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance planning and inventory control activities.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels of critical spare parts to support plant reliability and production goals.
- Follow all company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
- Support food safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement programs throughout the facility.
- Work safely around food ingredients and finished products, including products containing common food allergens.
- Maintain flexibility to support varying shifts, schedules, and operational requirements as needed.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance-related tools, equipment, parts, and materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Prior experience with inventory control, storeroom management, purchasing, or maintenance support functions.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), ERP systems, or inventory tracking software.
- Experience supporting maintenance operations within food, beverage, consumer products, or other manufacturing facilities.
