Plant Manager
DSJ Global is currently partnered with a leading lumber manufacturer who is looking to add a strong Plant Manager to their team. They are seeking a results-driven Plant Manager to oversee daily operations at their lumber facility. This role is critical in ensuring production efficiency, maintaining safety standards, managing personnel, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to meet production targets and optimize throughput.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage and mentor a team of supervisors, technicians, and production staff.
- Collaborate with supply chain, sales, and engineering teams to align production with business goals.
- Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and capital improvement projects.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for production issues.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve plant efficiency and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years of plant management experience
- Minium of 10 years of experience in the lumber, sawmill, or wood products industry.
- Strong knowledge of sawmill operations, wood processing equipment, and safety protocols.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
