Title: Purchasing & Materials Manager
Location: Lawrence, Kansas | On-site (5 days/week)
Salary: $108,000-$125,000 + ~12% bonus
Relocation package available dependent on candidates needs
Summary:
Lead purchasing and planning in a fast paced manufacturing environment-driving supplier strategy, optimizing processes, and ensuring seamless material flow. Join a well-established, growing company where your impact is visible and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and evaluate purchasing staff
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiations
- Oversee purchasing processes, records, and compliance
- Resolve supply and vendor performance issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Track and report KPIs
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and sourcing teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related)
- 5+ years in manufacturing purchasing department
- 3+ years leadership experience
- Experience with direct materials sourcing, NOT INDIRECT
- Exposure to strategic sourcing in cross-functional environments
- Continuous improvement experience (Lean/Six Sigma preferred)
- ERP experience (Oracle preferred)
- Strong communication and Excel skills
