Engineer V - Manufacturing Automation & Project Leadership

Compensation: $116,000 - $148,000
Travel Requirement: Up to 70%, based on project locations

An industry-leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced Engineer V to provide technical and project leadership across facilities within their North American operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Engineering, this role focuses on delivering capital and general engineering projects that drive innovation and efficiency in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive capital project plans including timelines, cost estimates, ROI analysis, and documentation for submission.
Drive production process improvements through evaluation, modernization, and cost reduction initiatives.
Lead technical installations of new equipment, conduct FATs and PATs, and manage successful commissioning and validation.
Offer expert-level support in troubleshooting and optimizing automated production machinery, including PLC systems, HMIs, servo motors, and vision systems.
Leverage experience in robotics, AGVs, automation, and data systems to improve manufacturing performance.
Execute projects within budget using the internal purchasing system for requisitions and expense tracking.
Collaborate in engineering reviews related to tooling, equipment design, and production methodology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred)
5+ years of relevant experience in design, automation, and project leadership
Strong background with Rockwell Automation, AutoCAD, and high-speed production environments
Proven experience implementing and troubleshooting AGV systems and advanced automation technologies
