Procurement Manager - Capital & MRO

Our client, a leading global organization, is looking for a Procurement Manager - Capital & MRO to join their Pan-European Procurement team. This role will focus on Capex and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) categories for a major Greenfield project in Germany.

The successful candidate will co-own the sourcing strategy for civil, mechanical, and electrical work related to Capex, working closely with internal stakeholders and an EPCM partner. Additionally, you will lead the sourcing strategy for all MRO and indirect materials for the site.

This is a strategic and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to develop supplier relationships, monitor performance, and drive cost optimization. You will influence business needs, deliver commercial results, and ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define procurement strategies, tactics, and policies for local vendors in collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Drive continuous cost improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, price evolution, and benchmark procurement strategies in Germany.
  • Provide expert guidance to project teams on procurement design, specifications, and equipment selection.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers, ensuring quality, service, and financial stability.
  • Conduct value analysis to optimize specifications and consolidate requirements.
  • Apply global framework agreements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Identify procurement risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Perform audits and quality assurance checks throughout project execution.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business, ideally with a specialization in Procurement.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Procurement, with exposure to Capital and MRO categories.
  • Proven managerial experience.
  • Fluency in German and English; additional languages such as French or Dutch are advantageous.
  • Strong strategic thinking and long-term planning skills.
  • Ability to connect business needs with external capabilities and lead supplier relationships effectively.
