Position Overview

The Regional Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing procurement operations across North America, ensuring cost‑effective sourcing of raw materials, chemicals, and indirect goods and services. This role focuses on strategic supplier management, operational excellence, compliance, and supporting sustainability and innovation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Develop and implement regional procurement strategies aligned with global goals.
  • Manage major categories-including raw materials, logistics, and indirect spend-to drive cost savings and value creation.
  • Conduct market analysis and risk assessments to ensure supply continuity.
  • Review and process purchase orders.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Negotiate contracts and long-term supply agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships to encourage innovation and sustainable practices.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant procurement processes across regional sites.
  • Lead process improvements and support lean procurement initiatives.
  • Serve as the escalation point for procurement‑related challenges.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee the regional procurement budget and deliver measurable cost savings.
  • Track key performance indicators (cost reduction, supplier performance, ESG compliance).
  • Prepare regular procurement reports for senior leadership.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with manufacturing, R&D, logistics, finance, and other internal teams.
  • Support new product development and site projects with procurement expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of purchasing or procurement management experience within the U.S. market.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, strategies, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with U.S. supplier networks and sourcing channels.
  • Experience implementing sustainable and socially responsible sourcing practices.
  • Expertise in budgeting, cost optimization, and negotiation.
  • Understanding of vendor management and inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency with procurement software and related systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of U.S. procurement laws, regulations, and ESG/sustainability requirements.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and competitive environment.

Working Conditions

This position operates primarily in an office environment using standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers, filing systems). Some exposure to laboratory or manufacturing settings may occur, which can include loud noises and chemical fumes.
