Procurement & Supply Chain Lead

Role Objective

The Procurement Lead will drive, optimize, and oversee all sourcing activities for the newly established Battery Energy Storage Systems assembly line. This role focuses on the technical procurement of line equipment and critical components-including electrical motors, thermal management systems, laser welding machines, transfer conveyors, and other production assets-ensuring full alignment with global quality, cost, and operational standards.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Technical Sourcing & Supplier Management
  • Identify, qualify, and audit top tier suppliers for production line components.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships that support long-term strategic procurement objectives.
  • Evaluate technical specifications to ensure supplier capabilities meet manufacturing requirements.
  1. Procurement Operations
  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes, including RFQ management, cost benchmarking, price negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing for all production line equipment and components.
  1. Liaise with Quality & Compliance Teams
  • Verify that all sourced components comply with relevant international lab testing standards and meet the technical requirements for European and MENA markets.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve qualification, certification, and performance issues.
  1. Supply Chain Planning & Optimization
  • Manage supplier lead times and global logistics for an 2-month shipping cycle.
  • Minimize working capital exposure between China-based production and global deliveries through effective planning and coordination.
  1. Cross‑Regional Liaison
  • Serve as the technical and commercial bridge between Headquarters in Europe and China-based suppliers and partners.
  • Facilitate clear communication, technical alignment, and rapid issue resolution across regions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Electronics or any engineering related discipline.
  • Around 5 years or above of experience in procurement or supply chain operation and supplier management within energy storage, battery manufacturing, or power generation sectors.
  • Proven track record in sourcing technical equipment or industrial production line components.
  • Strong understanding of battery energy storage system architecture, battery cell packaging, LFP/NMC, pack/cluster assembly processes, and power electronics integration.
  • Familiarity with equipment used in automated assembly lines (e.g., laser welders, cooling systems, conveyor systems).
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese speaking is a must
