Overview

An established and growing manufacturer of American-made structural products is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead process improvement initiatives, drive operational efficiency, and provide technical leadership across engineering and production teams. This is a hands-on role with a strong leadership component, ideal for an experienced engineer ready to take ownership of strategic projects and mentor junior staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering projects focused on improving manufacturing capabilities, product quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee design and implementation of process improvements, tooling, and automation solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
  • Manage engineering documentation, including BOMs, P&IDs, and control narratives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment, technologies, and materials to support business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and other CAD tools for design and modeling of components and assemblies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering projects and mentoring teams.
  • Strong background in process improvement, automation, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and ERP systems (Acumatica experience is a plus).
  • Familiarity with steel fabrication processes (e.g., CNC machining, stamping, robotic welding).
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
