VP of Supply Chain
Position Summary
The Vice President of Supply Chain is a key executive leadership role responsible for defining and executing the company's supply chain strategy. This leader will oversee procurement, sourcing, planning, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relationships to ensure cost‑effective, reliable, and scalable operations aligned with business growth objectives.
The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands‑on operational expertise, thrives in a manufacturing environment, and has deep experience within packaging, paper, plastics, or related industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business growth, service, and margin goals
- Lead all supply chain functions including procurement, strategic sourcing, demand planning, production planning, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics
- Optimize supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage risk related to cost volatility, capacity constraints, and supply disruptions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, service levels, inventory turns, and working capital
- Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Finance, Sales, and Engineering to support customer requirements and operational efficiency
- Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing supply chain team with a focus on accountability and execution
- Oversee S&OP processes to align demand, supply, and financial planning
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and sustainability standards
- Leverage data, KPIs, and technology to improve visibility, forecasting, and decision‑making
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- 12+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in manufacturing
- 5+ years in senior or executive‑level supply chain roles
- Strong background in packaging, paper, plastics, or other high‑volume manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing complex domestic and international supply chains
- Demonstrated success driving cost reduction, operational efficiency, and service improvements
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and financial acumen
- Experience implementing or optimizing ERP and supply chain planning systems
