Summary
The Business Development Specialist plays a key role in supporting strategic growth across assigned markets and industry segments within the Americas region. This position partners closely with Market Development leadership to execute regional sales and marketing initiatives aligned with broader global strategies, while tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of local markets.
Serving as a critical link between regional commercial teams and global centers of excellence, this role helps drive coordination across internal stakeholders to support sales performance, customer engagement, and project execution. The Business Development Specialist contributes to market expansion by supporting strategic planning, strengthening key customer relationships, and advancing new business opportunities.
This individual will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across North America and Latin America, helping ensure alignment and execution consistency across regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Market Development leadership to support achievement of sales and profitability targets
- Contribute to strategic planning by helping develop and execute market growth initiatives across targeted industries
- Assist in managing key customer accounts, including supporting pricing strategy, product positioning, and channel development
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including sales teams, product management, and technical groups, to support ongoing projects and initiatives
- Monitor market activity, including competitors, customer trends, and industry developments, and provide actionable insights
- Support the development and localization of sales and marketing tools for regional use
- Provide technical product and application support to sales teams following onboarding and training
- Assist in tracking critical opportunities, including open quotations and major project pipelines
- Support planning and execution of industry events and trade shows in collaboration with marketing leadership
- Contribute to pricing strategy execution and support discount structuring for key accounts
- Maintain strong communication across internal teams to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives and customer needs
- Uphold company standards in quality, safety, and organizational values
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales support, or a related technical/commercial role
- Exposure to industrial or technical products, systems, or solutions preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market and sales data
