Director of Continuous Improvement

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's Continuous Improvement strategy aligned with business goals and operational priorities.
  • Lead complex CI initiatives across manufacturing, warehousing, and support functions to improve throughput, reduce waste, and optimize labor and material usage.
  • Coach and mentor cross‑functional teams in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root‑cause analysis methodologies.
  • Drive standardization and best-practice adoption across all facilities.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of CI efforts; report results to senior leadership.
  • Lead cost‑saving initiatives and support operational budgeting and capital planning.
  • Partner with Quality and Food Safety teams to ensure improvements comply with USDA, FDA, and industry safety standards.
  • Facilitate training programs to develop a strong culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Champion digital transformation opportunities within production and operational workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field).
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years focused on Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence.
  • Experience in food manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required; Master Black Belt a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing multi-site initiatives is highly desirable.
