EHS Manager

Job Summary:
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe working environment within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role leads risk assessments, audits, training, and incident investigations while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
  • Develop and maintain site-specific EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Manage environmental reporting, permitting, and waste disposal processes.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and emergency response coordination.
  • Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a chemical or process manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices in industrial settings.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus.
