Health and Safety Leader

As the Health and Safety Leader you will work closely with the location's leadership team, you will drive EHS initiatives across the site, ensuring compliance, fostering a culture of safety, and protecting both people and the environment. This position requires significant collaboration with local management, business unit leadership, and internal/external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and guide location leaders to strengthen EHS accountability and performance.
- Partner with leadership to achieve EHS objectives and embed safety into daily operations.
- Develop and execute strategic EHS plans focused on fatality prevention, risk reduction, injury prevention, and environmental compliance.
- Serve as the primary EHS representative to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the site's EHS professionals.
- Work jointly with the Plant Manager to set strategic direction for EHS programs.
- Act as the plant's EHS subject matter expert, keeping leadership informed of emerging issues.
- Spend time on the plant floor to understand processes, employees, and hazards firsthand.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university: BS in Environmental, Health, or Safety discipline preferred
- Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred.
- Proven ability to lead change and deliver results.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions with incomplete data.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
