Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager oversees daily maintenance, electrical, and facility services to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations in a regulated food manufacturing environment. This role leads a multi‑shift maintenance team, drives equipment reliability, strengthens preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and supports continuous improvement across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and coach maintenance technicians, planners, and specialists.
- Support hiring, performance feedback, and skill‑development plans.
- Promote a culture focused on safety, food safety, and reliability.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Develop and sustain a Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM) program.
- Perform equipment criticality assessments, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action follow‑through.
- Transition from time‑based PMs to condition‑based and predictive maintenance methods.
CMMS & Data Execution
- Oversee CMMS accuracy, work‑order flow, and asset‑history integrity.
- Manage planning, scheduling, backlog, and KPI tracking.
- Use performance data (uptime, MTBF/MTTR, PM compliance) to eliminate repeat failures.
Operations & Asset Care
- Ensure facility systems and production lines are safe and fully functional.
- Lead troubleshooting and partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering for sustainable fixes.
- Manage building maintenance, utilities (electrical, water, gas, refrigeration, compressed air, boilers, wastewater), and facility projects.
Regulatory, Food Safety & Safety Compliance
- Maintain compliance with food safety standards, sanitation requirements, and GMPs.
- Enforce OSHA requirements, LOTO procedures, and safe‑work practices.
- Support regulatory audits and maintain required documentation.
Capital Projects
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to improve efficiency, reliability, and plant throughput.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or engineering degree preferred.
Experience
- 5-7+ years of maintenance leadership in food manufacturing or other regulated environments.
- Strong background in preventive/predictive maintenance, utilities, and multi‑shift team leadership.
Preferred Certifications
- CMRP, CRL, industrial refrigeration certification, OSHA safety training.
Technical Skills
- Mechanical, electrical (including 480V systems), pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic PLC troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM documentation.
