Manager of Business Development
Company Overview:
A well-established personal care and cosmetics contract manufacturer specializing in skincare and personal care products. The organization focuses on chemical manufacturing, formulation, and R&D. The facility partners with brands to develop and manufacture high-quality skincare and personal care products, excluding color cosmetics.
Role Overview:
The Manager of Product Business Development is a hunter-style, sales-driven leadership role responsible for generating net-new revenue for the company's contract manufacturing facility. This position focuses exclusively on business development by selling the organization's manufacturing, formulation, and R&D capabilities to skincare and personal care brands.
Success is measured by pipeline creation, closed business, and revenue growth. The individual owns outreach, pitching, and deal-closing activities end-to-end and operates with a high degree of independence and urgency. This role is onsite five days per week at the Moonachie, NJ facility.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $110,000 - $130,000, plus annual bonus and commission structure
- Location: Onsite - 5 days/week, Moonachie, NJ
Core Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
- Drive net-new business for the contract manufacturing facility
- Sell manufacturing, formulation, and R&D capabilities to skincare and personal care brands
- Act as a true hunter by independently owning outreach, pitching, and closing
- Convert an existing personal book of business into active manufacturing customers
- Create and deliver full pitch decks and sales presentations independently
- Aggressively pursue revenue growth and deal closure
Internal Collaboration
- Partner with internal R&D and formulation teams as needed to support sales efforts
- Leverage technical and formulation expertise to align customer needs with internal capabilities
- Coordinate internal resources strategically in support of winning new business
Client Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact during the sales process
- Participate in occasional travel as requested by clients
- Represent the company with confidence, authority, and credibility in all customer interactions
Required Background & Experience:
- Strong sales, business development, or marketing experience
- A technical or chemical background with a deep understanding of:
- Product development
- Formulation and R&D
- Direct experience within skincare or personal care
