Plant Manager
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Plant Manager to lead operations at our high-volume manufacturing facility specializing in industrial machinery components. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large teams (300+ employees), a strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, and a passion for driving operational excellence in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of over 300 employees across production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with HR to manage workforce planning, training, and performance management.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently met.
- Implement and sustain Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
- Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions to meet or exceed operational goals.
Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Lead capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades to support growth and innovation.
- Partner with supply chain, engineering, and R&D teams to optimize product flow and introduce new products.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture through proactive risk management and employee engagement.
Budget & Cost Control
- Manage plant budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Analyze financial reports and operational data to inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in industrial machinery or heavy components.
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience in Lean/Six Sigma implementation.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, production planning, and quality management systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.
- Familiarity with automation, CNC machining, or precision component manufacturing.
- Proven ability to lead cultural transformation and change management initiatives.
