Job Overview

Join a team of strong engineers dedicated to developing cutting-edge power components and solutions. As a Principal Applications Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with customers to drive new business opportunities and work with the applications design team to deliver solutions that meet customer specifications.

Job Requirements

  • Partner with key customers to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the applications design team to develop solutions aligned with customer requirements and support the transition to mass production.
  • Create and manage technical documentation, including application notes and industry publications, for new power component products and applications.
  • Coordinate with Field Application Engineers to deliver training and support materials for new product introductions.
  • Conduct market research and customer visits to gather comprehensive requirements for emerging applications. Document findings and develop strategies to address specific customer needs.
  • Support global Field Applications Engineering teams by providing system-level training and assisting in the creation of reference designs and demonstration guides.
  • Work closely with Product Design Engineering to influence the development of next-generation power components with the features and functionality needed for future systems.
  • Perform system-level testing of new products to ensure compliance with specifications and collaborate with design teams to implement necessary improvements.
  • Oversee the creation of product support tools and hardware, including evaluation boards, models, datasheets, and reference designs. Coordinate release timelines with marketing and product launches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineeringrequired; minimum 10 years of experience in power electronics design and/or applications.
  • Proven track record of securing design wins and providing technical support to Tier 1 customers.
  • Strong project and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and meet critical deadlines.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and EMI tools.
  • Hands-on experience designing power systems using power components (experience with proprietary chips is a plus).
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in complex power systems.
  • Familiarity with simulation and design tools such as PSpice, SIMetrix/Simplis, MATLAB, Excel, and Mathcad.
