Procurement Manager

We are supporting a leading renewable energy IPP on their search for a Manager/Senior Manager of Procurement to oversee BESS, solar, and wind procurement strategy execution. This role sits within the procurement organization and is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives across a diverse portfolio of utility‑scale renewable projects, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar, and wind. The Manager will lead supplier negotiations, manage equipment RFPs, and develop procurement strategies informed by market intelligence, partnering closely with engineering, project management, finance, and operations teams to ensure optimal cost, schedule, and risk outcomes across a rapidly growing project pipeline.


Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations for equipment supply agreements across BESS, solar, and wind projects, including batteries, inverters, modules, tracking systems, and wind turbines
  • Ensure all commercial terms, technical specifications, and contract structures align with project agreements, construction contracts, and sale requirements
  • Drive strategic procurement initiatives across multiple technologies in coordination with engineering, project management, finance, development, and operations teams
  • Lead end‑to‑end RFP processes, including scope development, bid solicitation, supplier evaluation, and award recommendations for renewable energy equipment
  • Analyze vendor proposals and procurement options to support equipment selection and optimize commercial outcomes
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs and major equipment suppliers across BESS, solar, and wind markets
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, including pricing, technology advancements, supply chain dynamics, and geopolitical or regulatory impacts on procurement strategy
  • Build and maintain internal tools, dashboards, and performance tracking systems to evaluate suppliers and support sourcing decisions
  • Coordinate with development and pre‑construction teams to align procurement strategies with project timelines, sizing, and execution plans
  • Identify supply chain risks, including material constraints, pricing volatility, and global trade impacts, and proactively develop mitigation strategies
  • Support procurement and supplier development efforts in new markets, including supplier qualification and collaboration with technical and compliance teams
  • Resolve complex supplier issues or contractual disputes while maintaining strong long‑term supplier relationships
  • Adapt sourcing strategies quickly in response to changing market conditions, project timelines, or development priorities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience within the energy sector, preferably in procurement, sourcing, project management, or engineering roles
  • Experience negotiating complex equipment supply agreements across renewable energy or infrastructure projects
  • Strong commercial acumen with understanding of contract structures and procurement processes
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Experience sourcing BESS, solar, or wind generation equipment
  • Technical understanding of power generation systems, project engineering, and construction processes
  • Experience building procurement strategies informed by market intelligence and supplier performance data
  • Familiarity with global supply chain dynamics, including tariffs, trade regulations, and geopolitical impacts
  • Leadership experience managing teams or complex cross‑functional initiatives
  • Proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with strong adaptability
