Production Manager
A leading U.S. food and drug retailer is seeking a Production Manager to oversee operations in daily dairy production. This role plays a vital part in maintaining excellence across pasteurization, packaging, sanitation and overall production performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage production across all shifts to ensure consistent output and operational efficiency in a 24/7 environment
- Ensure compliance with FDA, PMO, HACCP, and SQF standards, maintaining high safety and quality levels
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using TPM and Lean principles to boost productivity and reduce waste
- Build a collaborative team culture focused on engagement, accountability, and development
- Oversee CIP systems and sanitation protocols to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination
- Enforce union policies and labor agreements fairly and consistently
- Support strategic planning and align production goals with broader business objectives
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in dairy manufacturing, with emphasis on fluid milk processing
- 7+ years in production or plant management, ideally in a union environment
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Expertise in pasteurization, homogenization, and dairy packaging systems
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
- Excellent analytical and organizational abilities
- Proficient in ERP systems and production planning tools
