Production Supervisor

The Chemical Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the chemical manufacturing facility to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production processes. This role involves managing production staff, monitoring equipment performance, enforcing safety protocols, and meeting production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of production operators and technicians in the chemical manufacturing area.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports on output, efficiency, and quality.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to schedule preventive maintenance and resolve equipment issues.
  • Train and develop team members on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
  • Support quality assurance by ensuring adherence to specifications and promptly addressing deviations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or process operations, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to work in a chemical plant environment with exposure to chemicals, heat, and noise.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and adhere to safety protocols.
