Senior Sensor Engineer
The organization is seeking a Senior Sensor Engineer (Biometric & Physiological Sensing) to help develop the next generation of sensing systems for upcoming hardware products. This role will play a key part in building high‑performance biometric and environmental sensing capabilities. You will work closely with R&D and hardware engineering teams to bring designs from concept to production, with end‑users and product performance directly impacted by your work.
This is an onsite role based in San Francisco, required due to the hands‑on nature of hardware prototyping and sensor development.
How You'll Contribute
- Lead development of next‑generation biometric sensing systems
- Rapidly prototype sensor subsystems across electrical, mechanical, firmware, and test domains
- Perform data analysis and early‑stage algorithm development to validate feasibility and shape design direction
- Own sensor development plans from concept through production readiness for systems that must operate autonomously and reliably across a large user base
- Partner with product, firmware, and hardware teams to integrate sensing solutions into production hardware
What You Need to Succeed
- 4+ years of industry experience developing sensing systems, demonstrating innovation and hands‑on technical ownership
- Strong system‑level engineering mindset with proficiency in EE and ME prototyping (PCBA development, rapid mechanical prototyping, etc.)
- Experience with software development for signal processing and prototyping embedded systems
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
