Location: REMOTE w/travel
Summary:
A leading national transportation company is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to join their team to lead the capital projects at their distribution center.
The Warehouse Automation Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, pilot, and deploy new warehouse automation technologies while supporting installation, optimization, and rollout across operations.
- Partner with internal teams (operations, solution design, CI, IT, product) and external automation vendors to select, validate, and implement automation solutions.
- Support RFPs, solution design reviews, SOW validation, and ROI development to ensure scalable, cost‑effective automation strategies.
- Assist with project management activities, including tracking milestones, coordinating implementation support, managing SAT testing, and monitoring punch‑list items.
- Perform data analytics on system performance and WMS/WES controls to drive system optimization and validate solution effectiveness.
- Contribute to budget tracking, strategy alignment, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure successful deployment of warehouse automation initiatives.
The Warehouse Automation Engineer will have the following requirements and skill sets:
- B.S. degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Industrial Engineering highly preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience with warehouse automation
- Must have hands‑on experience in AMRs, AS/RS, AGVs, and automated conveyance systems.
- Distribution center/warehouse experience
- Strong project management, team management and leadership skills
