Country Head Operations - Air & Ocean Freight (m/f/d)
Our client is a global logistics and supply chain organisation with a strong international footprint and a well‑established presence across the Middle East. As part of its continued regional development, our client is seeking an experienced Country Head of Operations to lead and optimise its Air and Ocean Freight operations.
This is a critical senior leadership role with full accountability for operational performance, service excellence, compliance, and team leadership across the country organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for Air and Ocean Freight operations
- Own end‑to‑end operational performance, including service quality, productivity, cost control, and compliance
- Lead, develop, and engage a multi‑site operational leadership team
- Ensure operational alignment with global standards, SOPs, and best practices
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, systems, and performance management
- Partner closely with commercial, customer care, finance, and regional leadership teams
- Ensure full regulatory, customs, and safety compliance across all air and ocean freight activities
- Act as the senior operational escalation point for key customers and stakeholders
Candidate Profile
- Extensive senior operational leadership experience within Air and Ocean Freight forwarding
- Proven experience leading country‑level or large‑scale multi‑branch operations
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations, customs processes, carrier management, and compliance
- Demonstrated ability to build high‑performing teams and develop operational leaders
- Data‑driven mindset with experience driving KPIs, productivity, and continuous improvement
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience operating within complex, matrix‑led global organisations preferred
