DSJ Global is partnered with a leading wire and cable manufacturer that are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our plant engineering and manufacturing technology initiatives. This role is critical to driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects across our production facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Engineering Manager will oversee a team of engineers and technical staff, guiding the development, maintenance, and enhancement of production methods, equipment, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise engineering teams in process development, machine and tooling design, equipment procurement, and plant layout optimization.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for capital investments in machinery, tooling, and facility upgrades.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Purchasing, and Accounting to support product design, cost reduction, and process improvements.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S methodology and continuous improvement strategies.
- Ensure timely repair and maintenance of all plant equipment to meet production schedules.
- Represent the company professionally in interactions with vendors, OEMs, and international standards committees.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and long-term engineering strategies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards, integrating safety into all engineering designs and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, including machine design, process optimization, and team leadership.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engineering projects, from concept through implementation.
- Strong understanding of product design, tooling, and production methods.
- Experience leading teams of 5 or more engineers and technical staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical and financial data clearly.
- P.E. License is desirable
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office and production floor environments.
