Group Sourcing Lead
We are partnered with a leading national residential homebuilder to recruit a Group Sourcing Manager based onsite in Frederick, MD. This role supports high‑spend construction and building materials categories across multiple U.S. regions and has significant visibility with senior leadership.
Role Overview
The Group Sourcing Manager will oversee national and regional sourcing strategies, managing $200M-$300M+ in spend across contractors, distributors, and suppliers supporting residential construction operations.
This is a highly strategic role requiring strong industry knowledge, negotiation capability, and experience operating within a multi‑region homebuilding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned construction and building materials categories
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts aligned with cost, quality, and service goals
- Lead category initiatives, supplier transitions, and change‑management efforts
- Partner with regional homebuilding operations and building products leadership
- Drive cost‑reduction initiatives tied to annual business objectives
- Monitor and improve supplier performance across quality, service, lead‑time, and pricing metrics
- Serve as procurement lead on broader enterprise initiatives impacting construction operations
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in residential homebuilding or construction, including:
- Procurement or strategic sourcing and/or
- Production, costing, materials management, or construction operations
- Experience supporting multi‑region or national construction operations
- Bachelor's degree required
- Strong contract negotiation experience in high‑spend environments
- Proven project and change‑management skills
- Ability to manage complex priorities in a fast‑paced operation
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Comfortable working onsite and collaborating daily with cross‑functional teams
Location & Work Environment
- Onsite: Frederick, Maryland
- Schedule: 5 days per week, in office
