Manufacturing Manager
The Manufacturing Manager will lead day-to-day operations within a fast-paced consumer goods production environment. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement while ensuring production goals are consistently met. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational acumen and experience supervising teams in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure output meets demand, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Develop and execute production schedules in coordination with Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
- Monitor KPIs including OEE, throughput, scrap, downtime, and labor efficiency; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of production supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, cGMP, and company-specific safety protocols.
- Partner with the Quality team to investigate non-conformances and drive root cause and corrective actions.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve process reliability.
- Identify opportunities to enhance throughput, reduce cost, and improve equipment uptime.
- Support capital improvement projects and new equipment installations.
- Support new product launches and production line changeovers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in consumer goods, food & beverage, personal care, or similar high-volume environments.
- Strong knowledge of Lean/CI methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in FDA-regulated or cGMP environments.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Background in managing automated or semi-automated production lines.
