Overview
The Plant Manager will lead overall plant operations, driving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity initiatives across the facility. This role requires a strategic and hands‑on leader capable of guiding a value stream through continuous improvement, operational excellence, and organizational growth.
The ideal candidate excels at change management, Lean principles, and cross‑functional collaboration while ensuring strong employee development and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead the value stream to meet or exceed Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Cash (SQDCC) targets.
- Act as a change agent to eliminate waste, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, quality, lean, safety, finance, and HR to support plant objectives.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Establish and execute transformation plans aligned with plant and organizational strategy.
- Translate strategic goals into actionable improvement initiatives and Kaizen activities.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement through updated systems, processes, tooling, and equipment.
People Leadership
- Ensure robust plans are in place for talent acquisition, development, and performance management.
- Maintain open communication channels to monitor employee engagement and address concerns proactively.
- Partner with HR on coaching, development, and workforce planning.
Customer & Market Alignment
- Lead activities that respond to customer and market needs, using Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes to support demand and delivery performance.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree required (BS or BA).
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of plant leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement, process optimization, and operational excellence.
