Process Engineer (M/F/D)
Our client is a growing, internationally active manufacturer of high‑performance packaging and technical film products.
To strengthen the production team, they are looking for a hands‑on Process Specialist with strong experience in extrusion and continuous film or sheet processes, ideally gained in packaging, medical, or specialty materials environments.
This role suits someone who enjoys being close to the machine, solving complex process issues, and understanding how materials behave under heat, pressure, and speed.
Your Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for extrusion processes on continuous film or sheet lines
- Analyse and optimise key process parameters (temperature profiles, pressure, throughput, web tension, nip and roller settings)
- Work hands‑on with mixing, compounding, and powder‑ or granulate‑based raw materials
(e.g. dry blends, additives, compound formulations) - Support downstream processes such as calendering, coating, or lamination, depending on product type
- Troubleshoot thickness deviations, surface defects, material inconsistencies, and unplanned downtime
- Run trials for new materials, recipes, or process adjustments
- Collaborate daily with operators and maintenance to stabilise and improve line performance
- In a later phase: lead or contribute to improvement projects
(Lean, OEE, automation, or process upgrades)
Your Profile
- Strong hands‑on experience in extrusion, calendaring, molding processes
- Background in films, packaging, technical foils, or calendered products
- Practical, shopfloor‑oriented mindset
(Techniker, Meister, Prozesstechniker, or equivalent) - Ability to read, interpret, and work with process data and analytics
- Solid understanding of mixing, compounding, and material handling
(powders, granulates, additives) - Experience with continuous processes (web handling, tension control, roller systems)
- German for daily shopfloor interaction; English beneficial for global interfaces
- Experience with materials such as PVC, PET, TPU, blister films, or specialty polymers
- Exposure to calenders, laminators, coaters, or paper machines (strong transferable know‑how)
