Procurement and Logistics Specialist

We are supporting a client in the renewable energy space on their search for a Procurement & Logistics Specialist to play a key role in supporting purchasing operations, material planning, and logistics coordination for current and upcoming solar installation projects. This position focuses on ensuring that all system components are sourced efficiently, delivered on schedule, and aligned with project specifications. The role works closely with engineering, project delivery, and operations teams to maintain smooth material flow across multiple project sites.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in the procurement of major solar equipment and electrical balance‑of‑system materials, including modules, inverters, mounting structures, transformers, cabling, switchgear, and monitoring hardware.
  • Prepare and manage RFQs, review vendor proposals, compare bids, and participate in negotiation of pricing and contract terms.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders to verify that selected equipment meets required certifications and project standards.
  • Maintain visibility into purchasing activity by tracking requisitions, issued POs, lead times, and vendor commitments.
  • Support transportation planning by coordinating freight arrangements, warehouse activities, and jobsite deliveries.
  • Monitor shipment status, troubleshoot delivery issues, and manage claims related to damage or delays.
  • Keep procurement dashboards, equipment logs, and supplier performance records updated.
  • Contribute to early-stage project estimates through market price research and quantity analysis.
  • Oversee warranty and return processes, coordinating with internal teams and distributors as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Two or more years of experience in purchasing, supply chain operations, or inventory management; experience in construction, renewable energy, or electrical distribution is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and organizational capabilities.
