Position Overview

The Senior Project Engineering Specialist will be responsible for the full lifecycle of capital projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, safety standards, and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of major engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and long-term strategic goals.
- Champion safety as the top priority by developing and communicating comprehensive project safety plans.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define project scope, design criteria, and execution strategies.
- Establish and maintain effective communication structures, including digital tools, meetings, and decision-making frameworks.
- Develop and manage SAP Work Breakdown Structures to ensure accurate cost tracking and asset settlement.
- Drive the development of engineering, procurement, and construction strategies that reflect industry best practices.
- Provide regular project updates to key stakeholders through detailed reports and in-person reviews.
- Implement rigorous cost and schedule controls to monitor project performance and ensure timely delivery.
- Manage scope changes through a structured approval process and ensure strict adherence post-approval.
- Coordinate with startup teams early in the project lifecycle to ensure seamless transition from design to operation.
- Interface with environmental, health, safety, and security teams to secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Foster strong professional relationships across departments including executive leadership, engineering, finance, and procurement.
- Ensure thorough project closure and final asset reconciliation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, preferably within the petrochemical or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex capital projects.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%, both domestically and internationally.
