Senior Supplier Quality Engineer - Mechanical Components
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team and lead quality assurance efforts across our mechanical component supply base. This role is critical in ensuring that our suppliers consistently deliver high-quality parts that meet stringent engineering and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supplier quality strategies for mechanical components, including castings, machined parts, fasteners, and assemblies.
- Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and performance reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier non-conformances.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier quality and drive improvement initiatives.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring supplier readiness and quality planning.
- Maintain and improve supplier quality documentation, including control plans, PPAPs, FMEAs, and inspection criteria.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, with a focus on mechanical components.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, forging, and assembly.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Experience working in a global supply chain environment.
- Familiarity with CAD and engineering drawings.
