Sr. Planner - Aerospace
Job Title: Planner
Summary:
The Planner plays a critical role in coordinating and executing all planning activities to ensure timely and successful product delivery. This position is responsible for developing production schedules, material requirements, and manufacturing plans-including fabrication and assembly-while maintaining alignment with engineering and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor material shortages and proactively implement solutions, keeping stakeholders informed of potential risks.
- Analyze demand forecasts and plan supply accordingly to ensure timely procurement and production.
- Align material flow with production activities to optimize efficiency.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and documentation; coordinate and implement changes as needed.
- Maintain inventory levels in line with company objectives.
- Support testing and certification processes for new programs.
- Ensure accurate engineering revision control.
- Serve as a key user of the ERP system, validating data accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on lead times, planning parameters, and related elements.
- Conduct root cause analysis for planning-related issues.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision, escalating only complex issues.
- Tackle complex challenges and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of production planning and/or material planning experience.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, including purchase and manufacturing order logic and inventory management.
- Solid understanding of material management principles: production planning, inventory control, purchasing, and logistics.
- Experience with procurement of raw materials, components, and commodities-preferably in aerospace or aircraft lavatory production.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and technical drawings.
- Commitment to quality and completion of tasks without exception.
- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to make timely decisions and communicate plans and strategies clearly.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior experience working with MRP systems.
