Senior Procurement Specialist

Location: Denver, CO

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic procurement professional to join our team. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders, developing sourcing strategies, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to support production needs. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to analyze data to drive cost, quality, and service improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, execute, and enter purchase orders based on MRP requirements.
  • Develop sourcing strategies through analysis of spend data, supply market dynamics, and category intelligence.
  • Expedite delivery of goods on routine shortages and communicate outcomes to production; escalate critical shortages to management and propose solutions.
  • Negotiate complex contracts with global suppliers to optimize cost and service.
  • Request and process Return Material Authorizations (RMA) for rejected materials; identify quality issues and request corrective actions.
  • Analyze data to identify issues and implement creative, effective solutions.
  • Design and implement strategies to rationalize the supply base and maximize value.
  • Partner with Quality to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Update purchase order changes promptly and communicate with internal stakeholders.
  • Implement internal changes required by released ECNs/ECOs and manage supplier transitions or end-of-life activities.
  • Follow up on supplier commitments regarding late deliveries, returns, corrective actions, and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to execute defined supplier strategies (Exit, Leverage, Maintain).
  • Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to maintain supplier relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a supply chain-related role preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable steps.
  • Strong relationship-building skills internally and externally.
  • Results-driven mindset with a commitment to excellence.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
