Strategic Buyer (M/F/D)
We are seeking a highly motivated Strategic Buyer to join our client's procurement team in Cologne. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and services while driving cost optimisation and supplier performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping procurement strategies that align with business objectives and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and supply continuity.
- Manage supplier relationships, including negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve optimal value.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the Food & Beverage sector.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to align procurement activities with operational needs.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and sustainability requirements.
- Support budgeting and forecasting for procurement-related costs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in strategic procurement, ideally within the Food & Beverage industry.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a proven track record of cost savings and supplier development.
- Knowledge of procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment and manage multiple priorities.
