Strategic Sourcing Lead - Indirect Procurement
Position Overview
The Strategic Sourcing Lead plays a key role in driving and executing procurement strategies with a high degree of autonomy. This position is responsible for managing and supporting sourcing initiatives, including the creation and execution of RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, supplier assessments, bid analysis, negotiation planning and execution, vendor selection, contract development, market intelligence, cost modeling, and ad hoc reporting. The focus is on indirect procurement categories, particularly those related to facility maintenance and warehouse operations for my client's distribution network (e.g., equipment, services, landscaping, and operational supplies).
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain sourcing project updates in internal systems, manage communications with stakeholders and suppliers, and support sourcing events through timeline tracking, data analysis, and RFx documentation.
- Assist in defining requirements, conducting market research, managing the RFx process, evaluating supplier proposals, and supporting negotiation and supplier selection.
- Perform detailed financial assessments of spend data and support total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and related reporting.
- Conduct supply market research and share insights to inform sourcing strategies; assist with ad hoc data and reporting needs,
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint)
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across functions
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data
- Experience in project management and strategic negotiations
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Education & Experience
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree
- Minimum Experience: 3 years in a related field
Certifications
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred
