Our client is a globally recognised leader in the manufacturing sector, known for innovation, quality, and sustainability. With operations spanning multiple continents, they are committed to driving excellence across their supply chain and procurement functions. To strengthen their procurement operations in Europe, they are seeking a highly capable Procurement Lead to be based in Würzburg, Germany.


Role Overview

As the Procurement Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and optimising procurement processes to deliver cost efficiency and ensure supply continuity. You will work closely with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align procurement objectives with the company's broader business goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for the Würzburg site, in line with global sourcing strategies.

  • Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure supplier performance aligns with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to forecast demand, identify risks, and ensure timely material availability.

  • Lead the identification and execution of cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service levels.

  • Monitor market trends, assess potential suppliers, and drive supplier innovation and sustainability initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and legal requirements across all procurement activities.

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to local procurement team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to global procurement reporting and strategy sessions.


Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPM) is a plus.

  • Minimum of 4 year's experience in procurement or strategic sourcing within the manufacturing sector, focusing on the electronics commodity.

  • Proven ability to manage supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, supply market dynamics, and risk management.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is highly desirable.

  • Willingness to travel as required for supplier visits and global meetings.
