Tender Manager Netherlands
DSJ Global is supporting a leading international logistics provider in the search for a Tender Manager to strengthen their regional commercial and operational organisation in the Netherlands (offices in various locations). The company operates across global air and ocean freight markets and delivers tailored supply chain solutions for international clients across a wide variety of industries.
This position plays a central role within the commercial organisation, coordinating tender responses, improving bid quality and ensuring the business presents competitive and accurate proposals across Europe.
Role Overview
The Tender Manager will oversee the entire tender process, working closely with sales, product, pricing and operational teams to build high‑quality submissions for strategic clients. This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working in a structured, analytical and fast‑paced environment, and who can balance attention to detail with strong stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end tender processes for air and ocean freight opportunities, from initial receipt to final submission.
- Coordinate input from internal departments including sales, trade lanes, operations, legal and finance to ensure proposals are commercially sound and operationally feasible.
- Prepare pricing models, costing structures and service descriptions in line with customer requirements.
- Review tender documentation, identify risks and highlight information gaps to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain tender databases, rate libraries and supporting documentation to streamline future submissions.
- Ensure proposals are delivered accurately, professionally and within strict deadlines.
- Support the continuous improvement of bid processes, tools and templates to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Work closely with regional and global teams to ensure alignment in strategy, pricing and service capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in tender management, pricing, bid coordination or commercial support within freight forwarding is essential.
- Strong understanding of air and ocean freight products, industry terminology and operational constraints.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and complex documentation.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience in building pricing models and cost calculations.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to simplify complex information into clear, professional submissions.
- Comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teams and influencing stakeholders at various levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other tender‑related tools.
- Fluent in English. Additional European languages are a plus.
