Summary:
A high-end electric marine company is seeking a Director of Sales to lead its consumer sales strategy targeting high-net-worth individuals. This role is ideal for a seasoned sales leader in yachting or boating with a proven track record in luxury sales, particularly in transactions exceeding one million dollars. The position involves owning the full sales cycle from lead generation to close, building a high-performing sales team, and driving direct-to-consumer growth in a rapidly expanding market. The company is backed by top-tier investors and led by experts in aerospace, robotics, and maritime innovation.
The Director of Sales will have the following responsibilities:
- Own and manage the entire 360-degree sales process from prospecting to closing
- Build and lead a high-performing sales team focused on direct-to-consumer growth
- Develop and execute strategies to engage high-net-worth individuals and drive vessel sales
- Represent the company at key industry events and client meetings
- Collaborate with leadership to shape pricing, positioning, and go-to-market plans
- Travel as needed to support sales efforts and build strategic relationships
The Sales Manager will have the following requirements and skills set:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in high-value consumer sales, ideally in yacht brokerage or luxury marine products
- Proven track record of closing deals in the $850,000 to $1 million range
- Strong understanding of luxury sales cycles and customer behavior
- Existing network of high-net-worth clients
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience building and scaling sales organizations from the ground up
- Passion for the maritime industry
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
