Process Control Systems Analyst
About the Role
This position is part of a regional manufacturing operations technology team. The Process Control System Analyst provides technical and operational expertise for the daily support of plant computer applications and control systems. The role involves working with industrial software, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and system performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Use a broad array of computing skills to identify, evaluate, and resolve technical operational issues; propose new solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Install, maintain, support, and upgrade Windows Servers and Cisco network equipment.
- Administer and support various manufacturing and engineering software applications to enhance employee and process productivity.
- Lead or collaborate on projects related to distributed control systems (DCS) and business systems.
- Manage plant firewall and ensure all network connections comply with organizational security policies.
- Support and administer Windows user security functions on plant control systems.
- Support and administer relational databases, including design and application support.
- Facilitate data exchange between control systems and enterprise business applications.
- Maintain, support, and upgrade centralized backup systems used by plant systems.
- Effectively manage priorities and work assignments within agreed timelines.
- Stay current with technical developments through training, trade journals, user groups, and seminars.
- Provide 24/7 support for plant operations, including on-call, after-hours, and weekend availability.
- Follow instructions and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist other employees in achieving company goals.
- Participate in required training programs.
- Engage in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives as outlined by the organization.
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience with operating system support and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and engineering software platforms.
- Experience with firewalls and managed switches.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for servers and networks.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to process and analyze data effectively.
- Initiative to challenge inefficiencies and process deviations.
- Strong data analysis skills to identify value opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Eligibility for TWIC certification.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain positive work relationships.
- Flexibility and adaptability to dynamic priorities and instructions.
