Senior Demand Planner
Our client is looking for a highly analytical and strategic Senior Demand Planner to lead demand forecasting and inventory planning for our retail operations. This role plays a critical part in aligning supply with customer demand, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting sales and operational goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep forecasting expertise, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a passion for driving data-informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts at multiple levels (SKU, category, channel) using statistical models and business insights.
- Lead the monthly demand planning process, collaborating with merchandising, sales, marketing, and finance teams.
- Analyze historical sales trends, market data, and promotional activity to inform forecast adjustments.
- Identify demand risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously improve forecasting models and processes.
- Partner with supply planning and inventory teams to ensure optimal stock levels and service rates.
- Support new product launches and end-of-life planning with demand projections.
- Provide insights and reporting to senior leadership on forecast performance and inventory health.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics, preferably in a retail or consumer goods environment.
- Strong proficiency in forecasting tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and statistical software (e.g., R, Python) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decision-making.
