Senior Sourcing Manager, Protein
Our client, a rapidly growing pet food manufacturer and distributor, is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Sourcing Manager to lead strategic procurement efforts within their animal protein category. This is a high-impact role within a collaborative, values-driven organization focused on delivering high-quality products while maintaining strong commitments to sustainability, operational excellence, and responsible sourcing. The position offers the opportunity to influence sourcing strategy, strengthen supplier partnerships, and contribute directly to the company's continued growth. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for the animal protein category, aligned with business objectives and supply chain needs.
- Lead end-to-end supplier management, including sourcing, RFQs, negotiations, contract development, and ongoing performance evaluation.
- Conduct detailed spend analysis and market assessments to identify opportunities for cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supply continuity.
- Build and maintain strong, strategic supplier relationships while driving improvements in cost, quality, service levels, and capacity.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, finance, and other internal teams to enhance supply chain performance and support business initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10-15+ years of sourcing or procurement experience within a manufacturing or CPG environment, with at least 8 years focused on animal protein categories (poultry strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, supplier relationship management, and data-driven decision making.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a high level of ownership and accountability.
