Position Summary

A leading Poultry manufacturing company is looking for an Assistant Plant Manager to join their operations. The Assistant Plant Manager partners with plant leadership to oversee daily manufacturing operations. This role supports production planning, workforce management, operational performance, quality objectives, and safety initiatives. The position is responsible for monitoring production results, identifying improvement opportunities, and helping ensure operational goals are achieved efficiently and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily plant operations to support customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Improve productivity, equipment utilization, operational flexibility, and overall plant performance while controlling costs and maintaining quality expectations.
  • Support achievement of production, quality, and shipping goals.
  • Ensure labor, equipment, and facility resources are effectively utilized.
  • Execute operational plans that align with broader organizational objectives.
  • Monitor production activities and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees while supporting recruitment, training, development, and performance management efforts.
  • Review operational data to identify opportunities related to efficiency, waste reduction, and labor utilization.
  • Promote compliance with workplace safety programs and operating procedures.
  • Establish and maintain processes, performance measurements, and reporting tools that drive productivity and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience within food manufacturing or food processing operations, with poultry industry experience preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, workforce planning, and operational cost management.
  • Proven leadership and team development abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in team environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business-related software applications.

  • Leadership experience in high-volume food production environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing production teams and operational performance metrics.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and quality initiatives.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
